POHHF Mission Statement:
Preservation of Hometown Heroes and Families, Inc. (POHHF) is primarily to serve those who serve us and their families!
POHFF will aim to serve, assess, strengthen, restore, treat, and/or support those individuals or entities who have in the past, or are presently, working to serve our communities and our country. These target Individuals who serve us are often least likely to request or obtain support or resiliency strengthening efforts for themselves. POHHF desires to change this.
Specifically, this target population will include our military members, all first responders', hospital professionals, spiritual leaders, and their families. It will also include the leaders or organizations for which they work.
Preservation of Hometown Heroes and Families will focus primarily on prevention initially through fee for service consultations services, education, training, workshops, and special events. The focus will be to increase resiliency, decrease fray, stigma, and the incidence of physical, emotional, and spiritual decline.
As POHFF grows the intent is to be able to offer the services free of charge through donations and grants. However, initially, the fees paid for services will go towards paying the professionals for their time offering services.
In addition, as needed, assessment and treatment level care will be offered or recommended by a POHHF trained professional for emotional setbacks or injuries that may need that level of care.
POHHF services will be provided by quality professionals willing to embed and learn what each specific organization needs to build trust, support resilience, and bring restoration. They will also be expected to design innovative efforts around each organizations specific needs.
Consultations- undocumented educational, solution-focused, skill-based meetings to bring about positive transitions and improve sense of well-being and health.
Couples Consultations- undocumented educational skill-based meetings to improve couples’ relationships, longevity, and tools to support each other.
Seminars, workshops, briefs for members or organizations- to increase strength, resiliency, and knowledge regarding maintaining their optimal selves or improving organization support to achieve these objectives effectively. These services will be uniquely designed to meet the specific needs of each organizations unique challenges.
Assessment- Personality, Pre-marital, Diagnostic scales, and in the future Neurological assessments
Therapy- when a diagnosis is present, and the client needs actual evidenced based treatment to restore their level of functioning to baseline, therapy will be offered or recommended but not forced. However, anyone who appears to be a serious threat to themselves or others must be reported to those who can take action to safe guard everyone.
Recommendations- if providers to conduct therapy level care are not available through POHHF --options may be suggested.
Dr. J is the founder of Preservation of Hometown Heroes and Families, Inc. Prior to beginning POHHF, Dr. J worked with Special Operation Forces as an embedded Clinical Psychologist on Hurlburt Field AFB in the Panhandle of Florida. Her mission was to engage SOF members, some of the most highly trained, intelligent, strong, and frequently deployed members of our military. Her assigned units, by their own testimonies, were some of the least likely military members to utilize the type of services Dr. J was trained to provide.
Dr. J's assignment was first envisioned by Admiral McCravin who believed that our strongest brightest men and women were beginning to fray. He believed that if trained professionals were embedded within their units to support such issues, it would improve their longevity to sustain both their well-being, families, and performance in the missions. Dr J gained insight about her unit members and developed forward leaning initiatives to support and train them. Her mission, which she fully believed in, was to maintain their strength and square them up when things went wrong. Dr. J dedicated herself to this program and it became well utilized by her unit members and the program expanded across SOF communities globally. Dr. J was able to build rapport, decrease stigma, maintain members strength, return broken members to battle, lead alongside of some of the best Command teams , and serve some of the most deserving members in our country.
Upon completion of Dr. J's contract at Hurlburt, she envisioned a broader vision. Preservation of Hometown Heroes and Families mission is envisioned to serve not only the military but all those who serve our communities in the most dangerous, sacrificial, and high stress jobs. Members such as first responders, medical teams, physicians, nurses, spiritual leaders, military members, and their spouses. These sacrificial professionals are often the unknown heroes of our communities. They experience high stress and tragedy but are often the last to care for themselves.
Thus, Dr. J, as the founder of POHHF request your help now to, pay it forward, and work to help support and keep our servants strong. POHHF there is is! Please support us in this vision and mission.
Your support and contributions will enable us to improve the lives of those who sacrifice for us every day.
Your generous donation is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Dr. J
